Franziska is a PhD student in the Psychology of Language Department at the MPI, where she studies poorly formed language in conversation. She investigates what type of errors and disfluencies speakers produce and how listeners are (un)affected in their perception.
Before starting her PhD in Nijmegen, she did a B.A. and M.A. in Linguistics at the University of Düsseldorf, and afterwards a joint M.Sc. in Clinical Linguistics at the Universities of Groningen, Potsdam, and Eastern Finland (EMCL+), where she researched how strokes in multilingual people could lead them to muddle up the sounds of the different languages they speak. In her time off, Franziska enjoys climbing and running, baking from her grandma's recipes, reading, learning languages, and propagating her already far too many succulents. |
